Jewels is choreographed by Balanchine and is a tribute to three ages of dance:
1. Emeralds evokes France, the birthplace of Romantic dance.
2. Rubies mirrors the carefree spontaneity of America.
3. Diamonds is Balanchine's tribute to the work of Marius Petipa.
Famed dancer Louise Nadeau is tentatively scheduled to dance in Jewels, on January 29, January 31 and February 5, all at 7:30 p.m. Nadeau is retiring this year so it may be your last chance to see the principal dancer perform.
And on Friday, January 30 and Friday, February 6 you can see the trio of shows as part of the Pacific Northwest Ballet's Under 25 Fridays. On those nights the show starts at 7:30 p.m. and you can get one ticket for $15 or two for $25.
For tickets call the Box Office at 206.441.2424 or visit 301 Mercer St. Each attendee must present valid I.D. upon ticket retrieval.
