The Regal Mountlake 9 theater (6009 244th St. SW, Mountlake Terrace) is being remodeled and will open in late May (scheduled for May 29) with new features. The features mirror the similarities of the Big Picture (based in Redmond and downtown Seattle). The new theater will be called Cinebarre and moviegoers can eat and drink cocktails during the show. The cuisine will mainly be finger food (pizza, hamburgers, chicken, steak sandwiches, veggie burgers) and made from scratch.

Eight theaters will be remodeled with every other row of seats replaced with a table that runs the width of the theater. One theater will be remodeled into a kitchen. Once open, customers will place their orders at their seats with most made before the movie starts (but you may place your order at any time during the movie). Theater goers must be 21 years old.

Cinebarre will look to hire 125 people in the next couple months from the Seattle area. Cinebarre currently operates three theaters (Asheville, N.C.; Mount Pleasant, S.C.; Denver, CO).

This really sucks. It will no longer be a Regal theater. I am sure the prices will be sky high like the one in Redmond. I guess I will no longer be going to movies at Mountlake. I hope the new Northgate theater is a Regal cinema.

Oh my god! This is exactly what Mountlake Terrace needs! It sounds like so much to be able to go to a movie, eat and have an adult beverage! I really missed the Aurora Cinema Grill when it closed on Aurora Avenue in Seattle. I am very excited about Cinebarre and will be frequenting every chance I get!!! GO CINEBARRE!

I’m with Kekuk on this one. MLT is such an aging city, we need to get something cool like this to rejuvinate.

I still think that the guys that wanted to turn the old Theo’s pizza into a brew pub should have been granted the permits for that.

no offense but I can’t wait for the old people holding this city back die off.

This place should be great. When I talked with the manager she said tickets will be $10. If you want to find out more, you can read my blog post about the Mountlake Terrace Cinebarre

The age limit seems to be wrong. You have to be 21 to get in. Hopefully that will change

I just visited the Cinebarre today and man i gotta say it was a great experience to eat and drink at the movies. The atmosphere is retro and classy. They have movie posters on all the walls old and new, and have the bar right in the center of the lobby. we went into the auditorium and the first thing i noticed was the prices on the menu. The food is quite expensive, but the quality is good. I like the fact that you have to be an adult to enjoy this place because most of my movie experiences are ruined by children and inconsiderate snickering teenagers. There are still the Regal and AMC theaters so its not a complete loss that younger audiences can’t come here. If you wanna go to dinner and a movie, and don’t mind putting a hole in your wallet. I highly recommend this place.

Homer,
I’d like to ask you a few questions about the old Theo’s pizza. Send me an email at dustindk@MLTnews.com.
