Seattle's Irish Heritage Club Parade is the centerpiece of the city's St. Patrick's Day celebration. Seattle is the Emerald City, after all, so it only makes sense that we celebrate the Emerald Isle in style. In 2014, the parade starts at 12:30 p.m. on March 15, and will go north up 4th Avenue from Jefferson to the Reviewing Stand at Westlake Park. Parade participants include drill teams and marching bands, but also Irish dancers, a few pirates here and there, and--of course--bagpipers.
After the parade, the party continues at the Irish Festival at Seattle Center. You can ride the Monorail from Westlake to Seattle Center between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. for free!
