Seattle Music Fest at Alki Beach

The Seattle Music Fest is Seattle’s well-known alternative rock festivals. It showcases emerging musical talent on Alki Beach (West Seattle) every August.

Summer Concerts at the Locks
Summer (dates vary)

Free weekend concerts on the lawn at Hiram M. Chittenden Locks in Ballard from 2-3 p.m., 3015 NW 54th St., Seattle. Phone: 206-783-7059.

Seafair Hydroplane Races and Air Show
August 3 through 5

Hydroplane races on Lake Washington and the U.S. Navy Blue Angles (air show) offer entertainment for all. Includes food vendors, beer garden and live music in Genesee Park (4316 S. Genesee St., Seattle, WA). Kids' activities include: Kids Zone and bounce house.

Snoqualmie Railroad Days
August 3 through 5

Railroad Days includes arts and crafts, food, live music, car show, kids events along with train rides.

South Lake Union Block Party
August 7

Pierce County Fair
August 9 through 12

The annual Pierce County Fair is fun for the whole family. Address: 21606 Meridian Ave. E., Graham; 253-843-1173.

BrasilFest
August 19

The South American cultural melting pot features Brazil's African, Portuguese and indigenous roots with classical guitar, samba rhythms and the percussive beats of traditional folk music. Discover Brazil at Seattle Center.

TibetFest
August 22 through 23

In the heart of Seattle Center the annual TibetFest is where the modern and ancient combine in an effort to preserve Tibet's unique cultural identity. The festival is free and the festival shares century old stories and legends through song and rhythmic movements, the wearing of symbolic masks and authentic costumes. Enjoy a Tibetan-style bazaar, children's events and food.

Evergreen State Fair
August 23 through September 3

The Evergreen State Fairgrounds is home to animal exhibits, vendor exhibits, log shows, carnival rides and of course fair food. Address: 14405 179th Ave. S.E., Monroe; 360-805-6700.
