Bill Cosby
It’s fitting that Cosby is performing just a day after Far East Suite. Not only is Bill Cosby a famous jazz lover (remember how many jazz greats guested on The Cosby Show?), but Bill himself is something of an Ellington-esque figure. You might think that his stand-up routine these days is enjoyable really only on a nostalgic level, reviving old bits and reminding us just how much we like him. Think again: Cosby still has one of the best, most original stand-up shows in the business. And at the age of 73, he will perform two 2+ hour shows back-to-back.

Fremont Fair and Solstice Parade
Anytime you meet someone from Austin or Portland or some other hip town who accuses Seattle of going too corporate, of losing its character, of becoming just another big city—you need to take this person to Fremont in June. Austin may need bumper stickers to remind themselves to keep it weird, but you couldn’t stop Seattle from getting weird every summer solstice. More than that, it’s a lot of fun. (Warning for parents: there will be ample nudity in this parade, though it’s about as non-sexual as you can get without clothes on).
