Live Music at Pastiche Wine Bar
Pastiche Wine Bar on 6th Avenue is a great place to go anytime for tapas (little servings of tasty foods), great wine, and dancing—offering a bit of a twist on your usual wine bar. March 5, Two Plus Two plays swing; March 19 brings a band called Grey Skies Blue with ballads, blues, and folk music; March 26 Aquavelva plays music to dance to and often features a singer. Tapas here can include everything from a cheese platter to bruschetta and you can also get soup or salad.

Seussical
Designed for family and young audiences, Seussical is the perfect play to bring the kids to, but still enjoy as an adult, especially if you grew up reading books by Dr. Seuss. The play is a romp through the fantastical world of Dr. Seuss’s many delightful characters from Horton to Lady Mayzie and many more.

Goo Goo Dolls
From their roots in Buffalo, New York, in the mid 1980s to the Emerald Queen Casino in March, the Goo Goo Dolls have a successful list of chart toppers. Their hits include “Name,” “Iris,” “Slide,” and more. They have an impressive 14 top-ten hits and sales well above 9 million albums world wide. Their sound is alternative rock and their most recent album came out in August 2010, titled Something for the Rest of Us. The album keeps with the band’s traditional sound for the most part, but also has some more serious notes to it as well.

Austism Speaks
Austism Speaks, Foster Care Children Awareness and Music Education Charity Benefit Concert, is an event promoting awareness of just those things. Enjoy performances by Seattle teen group L.A. Clips 6, Hollywood artist Tasia Ann Thomas, and the Washington Graham Eagles Junior Cheer Squad. The show is sure to be fun and is an ideal family event, all while raising money to help support foster children, music education, and autism causes.

Battle at the Boat
One of the top boxing events in the Northwest, Battle of the Boat pairs the Emerald Queen Casino with this night of fights. The main match of the evening is set to be between Francisco Reyes (8-1-0) and Evginy Gradovich (8-0-0). Also making an appearance, undefeated heavyweight Vincent Thompson is set to fight Corey Williams. Events are not set in stone and may change before the actual event night, but if you are a boxing fan, you can’t go wrong here.

Tacoma’s Mighty History
Bring a lunch and come listen to historians talk about Tacoma’s history. Tacoma Art Museum in downtown Tacoma has partnered with the Tacoma Historical Society and this event coincides with a photograph exhibit at Tacoma Art Museum called Mighty Tacoma: Photographic Portrait. This exhibit features photos from many artists and attempts to capture the unique diversity that is Tacoma. Visitors to the museum can sit for whichever photographer is in residence at the time of their visit and be included in the series. Visitors can also add to the exhibit via Flickr, Facebook, and Twitter.  The talk about Tacoma is at the specified time, but the exhibit continues through to the end of April.

Twist and Shout The Definitive Beatles Experience
Headed up by bassist Tony Kishman and guitar and keyboard player Jim Owen, Twist and Shout showcases decades of amazing Beatles hits. Kishman and Owen formerly played in another Beatles tribute show called the Classical Mystery Tour and are known for their accurate and fun portrayal of the famous band. Twist and Shout pairs them with other musicians for a night of pure Beatles—no pre-recorded tracks, and featuring songs from the early days of the Beatles to later in their history.
