Passport to Woodinville - Wine Tasting Weekend

From Billy Watson, for About.com

Passport to Woodinville
Passport Wine Tasting Weekend: Passport to Woodinville is the signature fundraiser for Woodinville Wine Country, held each year in April. This year Passport takes place on March 31st and April 1st. Each passport costs $50 and comes filled with labels and information as well as a Woodinville Wine Country tasting glass. Passports will be stamped and are valid throughout the entire weekend once at each of the 25 stops. As part of your Passport experience, there will be food at each member winery available only to Passport carriers.

Passport to Woodinville – Sales:
Overcrowding became a problem last year with thousands of people attending this annual event. Woodinville Wine Country has added more wineries this year and limited sales to the first 3,500 customers to correct that problem. Sales can be made directly from Woodinville Wine Country starting February 1st, but they go fast.

Woodinville Wine Country: Woodinville Wine Country started in 2002 with a group of wineries joining forces with Willows Lodge to form a nonprofit organization to build awareness for Woodinville wines among wine and non-wine media, trade and consumers. With more wineries popping up in Woodinville each year, Woodinville Wine Country has swelled to almost 30 member wineries.

The winemakers share a vision to create fine, world-class wines from Washington grapes and a burning desire to enhance their community by educating the public and driving tourism to Woodinville. Proceeds from the Passport to Woodinville go towards the creation and the distribution of educational maps of the area to increase awareness of our winemaking community.
