The Monte Cristo trail offers a fairly flat, 8-mile roundtrip hike to the abandoned gold mining and railroad town of Monte Cristo. Located off the Mountain Loop Highway at Barlow Pass this hike is popular with families, novice hikers, and mountain bikers in the Seattle area.
