Pioneer Square

Pioneer Square

In 1853, Seattle was founded in the area now known as Pioneer Square. The neighborhood has been designated as a National Historic District, but is also currently inhabited by bars, clubs, art galleries, cafés, and Internet companies. An area of about ten square blocks serves as both the center of Seattle's nightlife and the home of Seattle's history.

Capitol Hill

Capitol Hill

Capitol Hill is the most densely populated area in Seattle. It serves as the center of Seattle's counterculture and gay community, but it would be a mistake to call it a gay neighborhood. Capitol Hill is a bustling area that is home to the entire cross-section of Seattle’s population. Broadway is the main thoroughfare with shops and restaurants as diverse as the inhabitants. It gets busy in the evening with an extensive nightlife scene.
