Washington’s New Beach Town

Tucked away on the Olympic Peninsula is a quaint beach town called Seabrook. When you arrive at Seabrook you step into a time when life was much simpler. The town is a wonderful place to reenergize and enjoy a family vacation with several amenities for kids and it's just across the street from the Pacific Ocean. The rental cottages at Seabrook are located about three hours southwest of Seattle in Pacific Beach, WA.

The baby boomer generation will feel right at home here. And for those of us wanting to know what the old 1940s-1950s beach life was like you'll experience it at Seabrook. Several of the cottages are owned by others and are rented out year-round. Most cottages sleep several people so invite your friends for a magical getaway on the photogenic coast. If you've ever wanted to ride a beach cruiser you can do that too once you start pedaling you'll feel just like a kid again.

Lil's Pantry
Lil's Pantry carries everyday necessities like food, drink, produce and deli items as well as beach items such as kites, sand pails and shovels. Before you arrive at your rental cottage you can order food online and have it delivered to your rental cottage. Store Manager, Richard is very friendly and can help you with any grocery needs you have during your stay.
Front Street Cafe
If you want to go out and eat while in town hop on a beach cruiser (two are supplied with your cottage rental; if you need more you can rent them) or walk down to the Front Street Cafe. Server Merilee is warm and friendly and chef Lisa is an artful master. The handmade pizzas are wonderful and the desserts will make your taste buds smile. Happy Hour is nightly from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Seabrook cottage rental highlights:

• Cottage names reflect the theme inside the decor of the home.
• Comfy beds with lots of extra blankets and comforters.
• Cottages are a 5-15 minute walk to beach from three different trails around the area.
• Each cottage offers everything you need in a kitchen with enough supplies to make Thanksgiving dinner if you had to.
• Cottages come equipped with a BBQ, Adirondack chairs and some have washers and dryers.
• Bathrooms offer soap, toilet paper, towels, hairdryer (no shampoo).
• Cottages come equipped with beach towels.
• Some cottages are pet friendly.
• Depending on the cottage yours could have a Wii, Xbox, games and TVs in the living room and bedrooms. If your idea of a vacation includes electronics book the Reflections Cottage.
• In the winter you can stay warm with the indoor wood burning fireplaces.
• Make smore's outside in the fire pit. Or play bocce ball.
• Picnic tables are located all around the beach town.
• Ride the beach cruisers supplied to each cottage (supply 2) around town or take beach chairs (supply 2) down to the beach and relax.
• Great place to have a wedding; guests can stay in rental cottages.
• Olympic National Park is just 30 minutes from Seabrook.
• The little town of Forks, WA, popular for the vampire books and Twilight movie is only two hours north of Seabrook.

Things to note before you go:

• The drive to Seabrook from Seattle has you traveling through some run down cities hit hard by the economy.
• There is a site for a future pool in the town of Seabrook. No pool as of press time.
• There is ongoing construction in the area as more beach cottages are built.
• Cottages are situated across the street from the ocean, not on the ocean.
• There is no cell coverage out there. But some cottages have phones with long distance plans for calling out. If you need Wi-Fi or phone capabilities be sure to request a cottage that offers one or both.

Things to note once in your rental cottage:

• Beach trails are accessed from the Amphitheater at the main entrance, Elk Creek Trail, or near the sales and cottage rentals office.
• Neighborhood quiet time is 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
• Newspapers are delivered to cottages each morning.
• Check-out is 11 a.m. and be sure to return house keys to Cottage Rentals at checkout.

Before departing your cottage you are asked to:

• Clean spills, wash pots and pans and put them away. Start the dishwasher if dishes are inside. Close and lock windows. Turn thermostats to 58 degrees. Turn off lights, fireplace and appliances. Fold up sofa sleeper, fold and return extra blankets to closets. Remember you are renting someone else's home so treat it nicely.

On your way out of town stop by Lil's Pantry and get a latte for the road home.
